For example on one occasion the front desk receptionist told me that my account would be credited for a missed appointment but that information never made it to the billings person and for the next two months I ended up playing phone tag with their billing rep and front desk. Eventually I just got frustrated and paid the balance and canceled my appointments.
Had a pair of orthotics made for my athletic shoes, they were a vast improvement over my prior pair and make it easier to walk long distances.
However, I have had several bad - let me say terrible experiences with their billing dept. They say they return all calls within 24 hours. That has NOT been my experience. I had a simple question about a bill and left a message with the details. No response. I called again - 2, 3, & 4 times. Still no response.
I finally paid the bill out of respect for the physicians. I called one more time and still never received a response so I just gave up. For certain I will take my business elsewhere in the future and I will forward this review to all of my friends and colleagues!
My feelings about Washington Foot & Ankle are mixed. I think Dr. Mauer is a great podiatrist but as much as I appreciate his professionalism and guidance, I have come to loathe dealing with his office and billing staff. I have found them to be totally unresponsive to my questions and concerns and seemingly incapable to manage the simplest billing issues. Mistakes happen, and I can accept that but the lack of responsiveness to good customers is unforgivable.
Now the staff they are completely another story. One of the worst run clinics I have ever seen or been to. There is no coordination between billing and front desk. You almost never get notifications for upcoming appointments and if by any misunderstanding or mistake you end up owing money to the clinic get ready for some frustrating times.
I had a strained Achilles that had put my running on hold. I was referred to Dr. Mauer. In addition to rest he provided practical advise in order to heal (icing, a splint for support while sleeping, and shock stimulation therapy). I'm back running pain free.
I have been a patient of Dr. Mauer's for more than ten years and, for the past several years, of Dr. Vincent. I have found both of them to be outstanding in both knowledge & professionalism.
I hope I don't have to deal with this bunch ever again.
